In 2019, the Google Exploratory team asked me to work with their large CPG partners such as Unilever and Nestlé on a project to reduce plastic waste.
I visited intensive plastic-waste zones in Indonesia to understand the economy around recycling and waste-picking with locals and corporates.
By working with the CPG partners, local nonprofits and other stakeholders, we created the first platform to track plastic waste at scale, the Plastics Data Platform.
